Talking Heads- Burning Down the House
Tilda Swinton is from another planet, such a chameleon…*SPOILER* in the next frame she actually morphs into many cans of tomato soup. Very impressive! But seriously, We Need To Talk About Kevin, directed by Lynne Ramsay, was the best film I’ve seen this year for many reasons. The editing and sound was so expressive and captivating. Quite appropriately the discontinuity, or parallel editing, of the film was really reminiscent of Elephant by Gus Van Sant. I mean, the stunning performances executed by the ENTIRE cast was impressive enough, hell, even the guinea pig was convincing! Ok, but really though, it is really disconcerting to find Ezra Miller so easy on the eyes before he becomes a cast iron mutant of a boy. And let’s be real, John C. Riley always knows how to charm a crowd. In my humble opinion, just kidding I’m an ego maniac, EVERYONE should go talk about Kevin! - J.A.
